Button Content Block
Use the Button content block to add a button to your emails.
In this article, we’ll cover how to add and edit buttons in your emails.
Add a button to your email
Section titled “Add a button to your email”To add a button content block to your email, follow these steps:
- Click the Content tab in the left sidebar
- Left-click and hold the Button block and drag it into your email
- When you see a bold blue line, release the left mouse button to drop the button into place
Edit button text
Section titled “Edit button text”To edit the text displayed in the button, all you need to do is click it and edit it as you would any other text in your email.
Set an action for your button
Section titled “Set an action for your button”You have three available action options for buttons in emails:
- Open website
- Send email
- Call phone number
Add a link to your button
Section titled “Add a link to your button”Open a website upon button click is the default action.
- Click the Button
- Go to the Action section of the block options slideout
- Paste a link into the URL field
- Use the dropdown next to the Target setting to choose whether the button opens the link in a new tab or in the same tab
Send an email upon button click
Section titled “Send an email upon button click”- Click the Button
- Go to the Action section of the block options slideout
- Click the dropdown and select Send Email
- In the Mail To section, add an email address you want emails to be sent to
- In the Subject field, write a default subject line for the email
- In the Body field, write the default text for the email body
Trigger a phone call upon button click
Section titled “Trigger a phone call upon button click”- Click the Button
- Go to the Action section of the block options slideout
- Click the dropdown and select Call Phone Number
- Enter a phone number into the Phone field
Edit style and settings
Section titled “Edit style and settings”To customize the style and settings, click the button to open the block options slideout.
Button options
Section titled “Button options”- Colors: The Background Color box changes the color of the button. The Text Color box changes the color of the button text.
- Width: Leave Auto on to size the button to fit its text, or switch it off to reveal a slider for a custom width.
- Font Family: Use the dropdown to set a font for your button text.
- Font Weight: Use the dropdown to set the font weight (e.g. Regular, Bold).
- Font Size: Use the + and - icons (or enter a number) to set a font size for your button text.
- Line Height: Increase the space between lines in your button. As buttons can only contain one line of text, this setting will increase the size of the top and bottom.
- Letter Spacing: Use the + and - icons (or enter a number) to adjust the spacing between characters.
Spacing
Section titled “Spacing”- Alignment: Choose to align your button to the left, right, centre, or justify.
- Padding: Customize padding inside of the button. Increasing the padding will increase the size of the button. Enable More Options to customize each side individually.
- Border: Add a border around your button. Use the dropdown to switch between solid, dotted, and dashed borders. Change the border width with the + and - icons. Use the color box to set the border color. Enable More Options to customize each side individually.
- Rounded Border: Use the + icon (or enter a number) to create rounded corners for your button. (Enable More Options to edit the top, bottom, side border roundness individually.)
General
Section titled “General”- Container padding: Change the amount of padding around the button but inside the block (enable More Options to change top, bottom, side padding individually).
Responsive design
Section titled “Responsive design”- Hide on desktop (only shown when in the desktop view editor): Hides the block when a contact is viewing on a desktop.
- Hide on mobile (only shown when in the mobile view editor): Hides the block when a contact is viewing on a mobile device.
