Date

These question types allow you to collect a singular date from respondents.

Date Question Type

Note: Date question types can be used in quizzes, but points cannot be applied.

Respondents will see a date format based on the language settings of their device. However, all dates collected will be converted to the preferred date format of your own device when you view your results.

When you insert a Date question type, a single text field (labelled ‘Date’ by default) is shown with a calendar icon. Clicking the field or the icon opens a date picker for the respondent to choose a date from.

The text field will say ‘Date’ by default. This can be edited like any other text field.

  1. Open the Form tab in the builder sidebar
  2. Click ‘Question’ to open the question type picker
  3. Under Standard Questions, select Date
  4. (Optional) Click the text field to edit the field text
  5. (Optional) Add a Time Field from the question’s settings panel

You can add a field for respondents to enter a time with the date from the question settings.

  1. Click the Date question in the builder to expand its settings (click ‘Show more settings’ if needed)
  2. Toggle the ‘Collect time with date’ switch to ‘On’

A time field (showing ‘00 : 00’) will now be present next to the date field.

Clicking the question in the builder expands its settings directly beneath it. For Date questions these are:

  • Required: By checking this box, respondents cannot finish the survey without completing the question.
  • Numbered: This button toggles the numbering for the concerned question.
  • Link date to Contact detail: Pass any response data collected by this question to a contact field in your CRM. A ‘Manage contact fields’ button next to it lets you add new custom contact fields.
  • Collect time with date: Add a time field next to the date text field, in which respondents can enter a time.

Note: There is no longer a per-question “Personal info” toggle. Instead, a form-wide Pseudonymization setting (Settings tab → Privacy & Security) separates personally identifiable information from the rest of your results across the whole form.

Date Format

Dates will be stored as text responses in your Report (the Results tab, previously called the Quick Report), as seen in the picture above. They will appear in the order that they were submitted by respondents, from top to bottom.
