Use a custom survey link
A link is automatically generated for your survey, quiz, form or calculator once it’s published, which can be shared via email, posted on social media or printed. Your link will be formatted in the following way: yourdomain.com/s/XU9ce3Pe. You’ll see we have a randomized string of numbers and letters in the URL slug.
If you want to brand your project’s link or add a personal touch, you’re able to change that code to custom text.
E.g. yourdomain.com/s/customtext
Customizing your survey URL
Section titled “Customizing your survey URL”To remove the code we automatically generate and replace it with your own text:
- Go to the Send section of your project. If it hasn’t been published yet, click Publish now first — a shareable link only exists once your project is live.
- Under Get a link (URL), click the Customize URL button below the quick share link.
- Enter some custom text for your URL slug.
- Click Save.
Just like the automatically generated codes, this custom text must be unique to each survey/ quiz/ form/ calculator. And so, a specific word or phrase can only be used once across the platform. If another user has already used the text you’re trying to save, you’ll see an error asking you to choose another one.
The text may only contain letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (-). Spaces and other characters, including underscores, are not permitted.
If you change your custom URL later, any links you’ve already shared using the old text will stop working — but the project’s automatically generated link will always continue to work.
If you want to use your website domain instead of ours in your survey/ quiz link, take a look at this article: Using a Custom Domain.
Using both of these features together will enable you to have a fully personalized survey/ quiz URL. To also remove our branding from your surveys, quizzes and emails, take a look at our white label feature.
Survey tracking
Section titled “Survey tracking”If survey tracking is enabled when sending via our built-in Email Invitations (Mailer campaigns), your custom link will not be present. We use a unique link per recipient that’s essential to linking each response back to their Contact record.
Public links
Section titled “Public links”Your links are public by default, meaning anyone who has it will be able to access your survey. If you want to ensure only your targeted respondent pool have access to your survey, we’d recommend setting a password for a survey or quiz.
