How to Insert Text

Provide a deeper level of information, or context, for respondents by inserting additional text boxes into your project. This is done by incorporating the ‘Paragraph’ Content Item into your survey, form, or quiz, and filling it with text.

Add Question panel showing the Content Items group, including Paragraph

  1. Go to the Builder
  2. Open the Form tab in the left sidebar
  3. Click ’+ Question’
  4. Select ‘Paragraph’ under Content Items

There are a few ways you can customize the text inside your new text box. Click into the item and highlight a section of text to reveal the formatting toolbar.

Formatting toolbar shown above a selected line of text, with Bold, Italic, Bullet list, Numbered list, Insert variable and Link options

  • Bold: Apply darker, heavier, strokes to text characters.
  • Italic: Slant text upwards, and to the right.
  • Bullet list / Numbered list: Turn the selected lines into a list.
  • Insert variable: Pipe a contact field or previous answer into the text (this replaces the old ‘Pipe Text From’ option).
  • Link: Attach a hyperlink to text.

To insert an image or video alongside your text, use the Add image / Add video icons shown above the item when it’s selected — these add the picture or clip as its own block rather than as inline text formatting.
